Back to School!

Now that the 4th of July has come and gone, most stores are beginning to (if they haven't already had them up) bring out their school supply sections.  The Walmart and Target in my area have almost their entire areas up already and have been stocking it for the past couple weeks. 

It also means it's time for all the back-to-school sales where you can get a ton of stuff for not a lot of money (if you take advantage of the deals). 

It's also the time of year that a lot of parents fret over because they can't afford to buy school supplies for their kids.  Last year, about this time, I mentioned the thought donating school supplies to those that are in need.  This year, I'm mentioning it once more.  Staples is always collecting school supplies at the front of most of their stores and there are usually a lot of community organizations (Boys and Girls Clubs, churches, etc) that take up collections to help those in their area.  You can check out my post from last year here.  

Remember, using the back-to-school sales, you don't have to break your own bank account to help out kids that could really use these things.  Last year in one trip I got about 15 different things varying from pens to folders and a binder for under $2 at a Target weekly sale to donate.  \

But whether you're shopping for yourself, your kids, or kids in need the deals are beginning to come out at full speed!

7/11: National Slurpee Day!

July 11th (7/11) is on Wednesday and you know what that means? Free Slurpees!  In keeping with the annual tradition, participating 7-11's will be offering a free 7.11oz slurpee all day long (any flavor), limit one per person. 

With the heat that most of us are experiencing, it's a great time for something cold (And free).

Keebler just released a new flavor of their Sandies cookies, in Toffee.  Head on over here to print a coupon for 0.70/1 package of New Keebler Sandies Toffee Shortbread Cookies. 

Since this is new, you'll probably see some sales with this and this coupon, especially if your store will double it, should make for some inexpensive cookies!

Free $3 Amazon MP3 Credit

Amazon Local is offering up a voucher for $3 in free Amazon MP3 credits.  Just head on over here to register/sign-in to your Amazon Local account and click "Get Voucher" to grab yours.  You'll come up to a billing page where you click purchase, but don't worry you won't be billed, this is a free voucher. 

Once your purchase has been processed, you can then head on over to Amazon MP3 site and pick and song or album that you want to download onto your computer (any amount over $3 will be billed to your saved payment method). 

Amazon Local, for those that have never heard of it, is similar to GroupOn and Living Social sites where it gives you national deals as well as deals that are local to your area.  Baltimore became a featured city on Amazon Local a few months ago (yay!). 

Once purchased, the voucher expires on July 11th, so make sure you use it quick!
